Hey guys, welcome to my new site!
I’ve been working hard to get things up and running here.
The gigs have been going great, the bookings are coming in and I’m still spending a lot of time gigging in Carlingford and have even tried my hand at a spot of DJ-ing, always good to have a new string on the bow.
It’s been pretty good on my side in fact Aa young lady even joined me for a song last week and really brought the house down! You just never know who you meet when your singing in pubs, and every now and then you find a great singer hiding in the crowd.
I’ve also been spending a lot of time recording and have started my own little home studio. It’s taken a while to get the hang of recording and I’m still learning every day, but I’m getting there. The music recording equipment can be quite expensive but the way I see it is, it’s an investment into the future. Its really great to have a job doing something that you love.
I’ve been playing around with the idea of purchasing a new guitar and have seen some serious beauties but my favourite guitar builder still has to be Paul Connolly – he’s amazing. it seems that there is always a new toy to be had in this business and I am fond of having the best!
I’ve been planning on getting some more songs into my set as it helps to keep the excitement up. In fact, if you’ve any suggestions don’t be afraid to leave a comment. I’ve also played around with the idea of making my own backing music- I’m certainly not the greatest Musician in the world but I reckon I can make a good go of it.
So it’s Friday night, time for some live music I’ve Just packed the car with all the gear and I’m nearly ready to go. I’m back in Carlingford this weekend and I’m really looking forward to it!
The gigs are usually full of people who want to have a bash at singing. Some are good and some, well, some are – good – we’ll leave it at that.
Been looking into a new microphone too for the vocals. My friends have been using a new Mixc and there all raving about it so I’m getting the bug.
Anyway Ill be playing in Taffees Castle Friday and Sunday this week so pop along for a tune and a beer, always great to see new faces.
